Who We Are

We are a boutique, full-service digital agency located in the Historic Third Ward of Milwaukee, WI. Established in 1998, we have a collective 50+ years of experience in designing, developing, and marketing in the digital and interactive spaces. 

 

Our Philosophy

Our success has been tied to a mash-up between the connections and relationships we build with our clients, within the community, and amongst ourselves. Although we may not take ourselves seriously 40 hours a week, our clients' interests and expectations are top-of-mind from the moment we meet.

Lightburn Designs offers the following non-traditional work arrangements for employees:

  • Extended maternity / paternity leave

The following scheduling options are available for hourly (non-salaried) employees:

  • Choice of beginning and end work hours (8am-4pm vs. 9am-5pm)
  • Choose the number of hours in a day (5 8-hour days vs. 4 10-hour days)
  • Work a reduced schedule during a certain time of the year
  • Decide which shift they work
  • Choose when they take breaks
  • Choose when they break for meals
  • Take time off during the workday to attend to important personal or family needs
  • Control the amount of overtime they work
  • Work a guaranteed minimum number of hours per week

Employees are aware of their schedule at least 4 weeks in advance.

Employees are aware of overtime scheduled at least 2-6 days in advance.

The following scheduling options are available for salaried employees:

  • Choice of beginning and end work hours (8am-4pm vs. 9am-5pm)
  • Allow salaried employees to work a part-time schedule
  • Choose the number of hours in a day (5 8-hour days vs. 4 10-hour days)
  • Work a reduced schedule during certain times of the year
  • Work from home regularly
  • Work from home occasionally
  • Resources are provided for remote employees
  • Work from an alternative location to attend to important family needs
  • Decide how many hours they work in a week

Lightburn offers employees the following technologies to facilitate flexibility in the workplace:

  • Company subsidized smartphone usage

Employees can take unpaid time off to volunteer.

The following paid time-off (PTO) options are available to employees at Lightburn:

  • Use of sick time for personal time or ill dependents
  • Carry over unused sick time for future years
  • Take an extended career break for care giving or family responsibilities - on a case-by-case basis
  • Vacation time is unlimited if performance expectations are met or exceeded
  • Unused vacation time can be carried over to future years
  • Bereavement time off for the passing of a family member or partner
  • Bereavement time off for the passing of a pet - on a case-by-case basis
  • Time off during the workday to attend to family or personal needs
  • Take a sabbatical after a certain level of longevity - on a case-by-case basis
  • Return to work gradually after childbirth or adoption
